Welcome Cuyahoga County Visual Artists, Cultural Producers, and Dreamers.
SPACES and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts present The Satellite Fund, an opportunity for artists to explore the very reaches of their discipline.
The Satellite Fund will provide grants of $12,000 each to 5 artists/artist collectives in 2026.
The Satellite Fund, administered by SPACES and supported by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, supports Cuyahoga County artists, curators, and cultural producers in creating ambitious public visual art projects throughout Cuyahoga County.
This opportunity is open not only to established visual artists, but also to emerging artists, creative professionals, and any Cuyahoga County resident with a compelling vision and the demonstrated ability to bring a project to life. The scope of the fund is intentionally broad in order to encourage experimentation, accessibility, and a wide range of creative voices that reflect the full diversity of Cuyahoga County.
Projects may take place in traditional or nontraditional spaces — including galleries, storefronts, buses, billboards, coffee shops, parks, private homes, and other community-centered locations. We encourage applicants to think expansively about what public art can be and how it can create meaningful engagement with audiences across the county.
In addition to financial support, awardees will receive access to SPACES’ on-site artist workshops, which are equipped with tools and resources to assist in the production process. SPACES’ Curatorial Coordinator will also support grantees in identifying and securing a public presentation space outside of SPACES within Cuyahoga County.
Awardees will additionally receive a one-year SPACES Artist Membership, providing free access to artist networking opportunities, professional development programming, and other member benefits throughout the year.
THE REGIONAL REGRANTING PROGRAM
The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Regional Regranting Program aims to support vibrant, under-the-radar artistic activity by working with leading cultural institutions in communities across the country. The program allows the Foundation to reach the sizable population of informal, non-incorporated artist collectives and to support their alternative gathering spaces, publications, websites, events, and other projects. The Foundation plans to expand this program with partner organizations in areas where the level of on-the-ground, self-organized artistic activity is highest.
